The 2026 Rhode Island fishing charter season gets underway in late May and June.  The most critical element is the water temperature.   This controls the movement of fish up the coast.     The water temperature needs to be in the 50 degree or above.   This can happen fairly rapidly or take more time depending of the weather.  The fish cannot be caught if they are not there!  The colder than normal winter tells me the really good fishing might me a little later this season.   Usually by Memorial Day, the temperature is right, the fish have arrived and good fishing begins.  As of late April, the water is still cold.  My boat......
